This complex houses the Gifu City Central Library and is known for its undulating wooden roof and the open space lit by umbrella-shaped fixtures called globes. The children's book corner is spacious, with places where you can take off your shoes and sit down to read, so it is easy to spend time here with small children. Being indoors and air-conditioned, it is a great place to stay cool on a summer morning. There is a cafe inside as well, so you can take a break and spend about an hour and a half at a relaxed pace.

岐阜市長良西地区の福光公園(初日町2丁目18)にある、無料で利用できる水遊び場「福光公園徒渉池(児童用プール)」です。2026年は7月21日から8月21日までのうち計18日間、13時から16時まで開設されます。水深の浅い徒渉池なので、まだ泳げない小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩いて水に親しめます。対象は原則として小学3年生以下で、未就学児は保護者同伴、おむつのとれない幼児は利用できません。開設日は岐阜市の日程表のとおりで、悪天候のときは赤旗が掲げられて中止になります。屋内で涼しく過ごした午前のあとに、思いきり体を動かせる時間です。

Tips

利用は無料です。当日の実施可否は現地の旗で確認できます(赤旗は中止の合図)。水着を服の下に着ていくと、現地での着替えが簡単になります。日陰が限られるので、レジャーシートと多めの飲み物を持参してください。16時終了のため、15時45分ごろから片づけを始めましょう。

Using the library is free. Check the opening hours and closed days on the official website. It is a place to keep quiet, so agreeing on that with small children beforehand puts everyone at ease. Story readings and other events are held on some days, so join in if the timing works.
