This roadside station in Ichinomiya-cho, Fuefuki City, sits in a major peach and grape growing area, and in season the storefront overflows with fruit. In summer freshly picked peaches line the shelves, and the scent alone makes the trip feel worthwhile. There is a dining area too, so you can fuel up before playing in the water. Local vegetables and processed goods are plentiful, so you will have no trouble choosing souvenirs. Put the fruit you buy in a cooler bag and keep it in the car until you head home.

山梨県森林公園金川の森どんぐりの森の小川は、木立に囲まれた園内を流れる無料の水遊び場です。小さな滝やトンネルが設けられていて、水をくぐったり滝の下に立ったりと、ただ足をつけるだけでは終わらない仕掛けがあります。まわりを森が囲んでいるため木陰が豊富で、真夏でも比較的涼しく過ごせるのがこの公園の大きな強みです。約36haの敷地には6つの森が広がり、長いローラー滑り台や大型遊具、アスレチック、レンタサイクルもそろっています。水遊びと森遊びを行き来しながら、1日を通して自然のなかで過ごせます。

料金は無料です。開設期間は未発表(例年は夏季)なので、出発前に公式ページ(https://kanegawanomori.jp/info/p4869/)で必ず確認してください。小川の底には石があるためマリンシューズが安全です。森の中は虫が出るので虫よけがあると快適。雨のあとは水量が増えることがあるので、流れの様子を見て無理をしない判断を。園内は広く駐車場が複数あるため、どんぐりの森に近い駐車場を選ぶと移動が楽です。

Tips

Parking is free and the restrooms are well kept. Weekend lunchtimes get busy, so arriving early, around 11:00, is more comfortable. Popular varieties can sell out by midday. Topping up on drinks and snacks here for the afternoon in the water is a safe move.
