This is Wakamatsu Park Wading Pool (若松公園 徒渉池), a free water-play spot and children's pool in Wakamatsu Park at 若福町16-2 in the Nagara-nishi district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 23 days between July 21 and August 20, from 13:00 to 16:00. The water is shallow and built so that even small children who cannot swim yet can get used to the water while walking on their own feet. It is intended in principle for children in the third grade of elementary school and younger; preschool children must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants still in diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and it is closed. Use up whatever energy is left after the morning playground in the pleasant water.

Tips

Use is free. Whether it is running that day can be checked by the flag on site (a red flag is the signal for closure). Changing places are limited, so put swimwear on under your clothes before you leave. The ground gets hot, so water sandals will protect your feet. Closing is at 16:00, so start packing up around 15:45.

Best time to visit

Right after the 13:00 opening is the least crowded and lets you play at an easy pace
