The Hakushu Ojiro-no-Mori Meisui Park Verga (白州・尾白の森名水公園べるが) Water-Play Plaza (親水広場) is an artificially created shallow pool with flowing water, a water-play area where even babies and toddlers can play safely. Unlike a natural mountain stream, the water depth is controlled, so you can let small children play within easy sight. It's open 9:00-17:00, closed on Wednesdays, except during the summer holiday period from July 19 through August 31, when it's open every day. Basic admission is free, but during the summer holiday period (7/19-8/31) only, visitors age 5 and up from outside Hokuto City pay a 200-yen admission fee per person (free for Hokuto City residents). The park has play equipment such as a rock wall, zip line, and slides, plus a fountain, a campground, the hot spring Ojiro-no-Yu (尾白の湯), and the goods-and-cafe spot sunny pick, so you can also choose to wrap up the day by warming up in the hot spring after playing. It's a water-play spot surrounded by South Alps forest, distinctly Hakushu in character.

The opening period for the season is not yet announced (typically summer), so be sure to check the official page (https://www.verga.info/play) before you set out. The altitude is high and the water is cold, so prepare a bath towel and something to put on so you can get out quickly if you start feeling chilled. You can warm up afterward at the on-site hot spring Ojiro-no-Yu (尾白の湯), so it's handy to bring a separate towel for bathing there.

Best time to visit

Arriving at 14:20 leaves plenty of time before closing at 17:00, letting you play during the warmest part of the day
