Within Hakushu Ojiro-no-Mori Meisui Park Verga (白州・尾白の森名水公園べるが), play equipment like a rock wall, zip line, and slides is set among the trees. Being surrounded by trees softens the sunlight, making the park easy to be active in even in midsummer. There's also a fountain, and the mood naturally shifts from playground to waterside from there. The park also has a campground and the goods-and-cafe spot sunny pick, so you won't be short of places to rest or shop. Working up a bit of a sweat before getting in the water makes the South Alps' cold water feel just right.

Tips

Use of the play equipment is included with admission. The zip line and rock wall sometimes require movements more suited to elementary-school-age children and up, so small children should be accompanied by a guardian. Because of the high altitude, mornings and evenings are cool, so it's reassuring to have something to put on. If you plan to use the cafe, check the opening hours on site.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. With plenty of shade throughout the park, it's comfortable to move around even during the day
