This is the Kinoshita Park Wading Pool, a free childrens pool in Kinoshita Park (木ノ下町7丁目) in the Atsumi district of Gifu City. In 2026 it opens on a total of 28 days between July 18 and August 24, from 13:00 to 16:00. Because there are many opening days, it is easy to pick a date that suits your summer-holiday schedule. The water is shallow, so even small children who cannot swim yet can walk on their own feet and get used to the water. It is intended in principle for children up to the third grade of elementary school; preschoolers must be accompanied by a guardian, and infants still in diapers cannot use it. Opening days follow the Gifu City schedule, and in bad weather a red flag is raised and the day is cancelled.

Use is free. Whether it is open that day can be checked by the flag on site (a red flag means cancelled). Wearing swimwear under your clothes makes changing simple. Shade is limited, so bring a picnic sheet and plenty of drinks. It closes at 16:00, so start packing up from around 15:45.

Best time to visit

Right after the 13:00 opening it is uncrowded and you can play at a relaxed pace.
