Kasamatsu Minato Park Splash Pond and Babbling Waterway

This is the free water-play spot known as the splash pond and babbling waterway at Kasamatsu Minato Park, on the banks of the Kiso River in Kasamatsu Town, Hashima District. A shallow, gently shaped splash pond is paired with a narrow babbling waterway, so you can choose how to play according to age. Children who have only just started walking can begin by touching the water at the edge of the waterway, while those who can run around splash each other in the pond, letting everyone enjoy it at their own pace. Play equipment and a lawn plaza sit in the same park, so it helps that you can switch to the playground when the water gets old and rest on the lawn when tired. The Kiso River embankment is right nearby, and spending time in the open scenery of a river town is something only this park offers.

To keep feet from getting hurt on the pond floor, prepare water-play sandals or water shoes. Do not count on changing rooms; putting swimwear on under clothes before you leave makes changing smooth. Shade is limited, so do not forget a picnic sheet, hats, and plenty of drinks. Use may be halted on days when the water is not in good condition, so follow the on-site notices.
