Kisogawa Suien (木曽川水園), Kasen Kankyo Rakuen

Kisogawa Suien is a large nature-harmony park that recreates the landscape from the mountain streams of the upper Kiso River down to the plains of its lower reaches. Waterwheel huts, restored farmhouses, rice paddies, and small streams are laid out across the grounds, and simply walking through conveys what life along the river used to be like. The trails follow the flow of the water on gentle gradients, making them easy for small children to walk. You will often spot dragonflies, frogs, and small fish, and time flies by as you hunt for creatures along the way. The Jabu-Jabu Riverbed sits partway along this trail, making the walk a perfect lead-in to the water play.

各務原市の国営木曽三川公園河川環境楽園木曽川水園の中にある無料の水遊び場「河川環境楽園木曽川水園じゃぶじゃぶの河原」です。木曽川水園の開園時間中に利用でき、夏季は9:30から18:00までが遊べる時間になります。浅くて穏やかな流れの人工の水辺なので、川遊びが初めての小さな子でも自分の足で入っていけます。丸い石が敷かれた河原では、石をそっとひっくり返して生きものを探す遊びも楽しめます。7月18日(土)から8月23日(日)までは「夏の楽園祭」が開かれ、アユのつかみ取りなど夏ならではの催しも行われます。午前に自然発見館で学んだことを、実際の水辺で確かめられるのがこのコースのいちばんの醍醐味です。

Tips

利用は無料です。人工の水辺とはいえ石で足を切ることがあるため、水遊び用サンダルやマリンシューズを必ず用意してください。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけると着替えがスムーズです。夏の楽園祭のイベント日程や参加方法は公式サイトで事前に確認を。増水や悪天候のときは利用が制限されることがあるので、当日の案内に従ってください。夏季の閉園は18:00なので、17時半には片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。

Tips

Admission is free. Shade and sun alternate along the way, so do not forget a hat and drinks. Parts of the trail are paved and parts are bare earth, which can get muddy after rain. Leaving your water-play gear on a bench near the riverbed before you set off keeps you travelling light.
