This is the free water play area, 'Kiso Sansen Park, Kiso Sansen Park Center Water Play Area,' located within the Kiso Sansen Park in Kaizu City. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM during park opening hours. Beside a large flower bed, there's a shallow wading pool lined with natural stones and a small waterfall; since the water is shallow, even children who can't yet swim can walk around and play on their own two feet. Toys for water play are available to rent during this period, which is a nice touch since it means you don't need to bring extra gear. Large play equipment and a lawn plaza are right nearby, so you can switch between playing on the equipment when you tire of the water and resting on the lawn when tired, adapting to your energy level. Since both admission and parking are free, combining this with the morning's sightseeing keeps the day's expenses low.

Best time to visit

Roughly 1:40 PM to 4:30 PM is a good guide. After 3 PM, as the sun lowers, the water temperature becomes more comfortable and crowds ease up.
