Ring-Levee Farmhouse

About this spot

This is a restored farmhouse from the ring-levee district, rebuilt within the grounds of Kiso Sansen Park Center. People here lived inside embankment-ringed enclosures and built a refuge house high on a stone platform to escape to when the water rose. Seeing that refuge standing higher than the main house, and the small boat kept under the eaves, makes their life alongside the water immediately clear. Coming here after taking in the scale of the rivers from the observation tower ties together why such enormous flood works were needed. You can wander freely inside and out, so children enjoy it as a kind of exploration.

海津市の国営木曽三川公園にある無料の水遊び場「国営木曽三川公園木曽三川公園センター水遊び場」です。2026年は7月18日(土)から8月31日(月)まで、開園時間中の9:30から18:00に利用できます。大花壇のそばに自然石を配した浅いじゃぶじゃぶ池と小さな滝があり、水深が浅いのでまだ泳げない子でも自分の足で歩きながら遊べます。期間中は水遊びのおもちゃの貸出があるため、荷物を増やさずに出かけられるのもうれしいところ。すぐそばに大型遊具と芝生広場があるので、水にあきたら遊具、疲れたら芝生で休憩と、体力に合わせて過ごし方を変えられます。入園も駐車場も無料なので、午前の見学と組み合わせても1日の出費を抑えられます。

Tips

雨天は中止です。当日の実施は公式サイトや現地の案内で確認してください。自然石で足を切ることがあるので、水遊び用サンダルやマリンシューズを必ず用意しましょう。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけると着替えがスムーズです。日陰が限られるためレジャーシートと帽子、多めの飲み物を。開園時間の終了は18:00ですが、混雑や日差しを考えると16時半ごろの切り上げが子連れには無理のないペースです。

Tips

Viewing is free. The earthen and wooden floors have steps, so hold small children's hands as you walk. The building stays shaded, so it also works as a rest stop on hot days. The water play area is a short walk away within the park.
