Suito no Izumi Splash Pool (South Block Plaza of JR Ogaki Station)
About this spot
This is the free water play area, the Suito no Izumi Splash Pool at the South Block Plaza of JR Ogaki Station in Ogaki City, right outside the south exit. A splash pool is built into a plaza centered on a fountain, letting you play in the water with a sense of openness hard to believe in the middle of town. Hexagonal well-basins shaped after a turtle's shell are placed in the plaza, a design motif unique to this town rich in groundwater. Benches are provided, which helps since adults can sit and keep watch. Because it is right in front of the station, you will have no trouble with the route home even if you come by train. After walking through Ogaki Castle and the shrine's spring water in the morning, actually getting wet here turns the phrase city of water into something children truly feel.
Tips
The 2026 opening period and operating hours have not been announced. Be sure to check the Ogaki City information before you set out. Use is free. This is a public plaza in front of a station, so there are people passing through. Agreeing with your children on how far they may run around gives peace of mind. Do not count on changing rooms; wearing a swimsuit under your clothes before you set out makes things smooth. Bring water sandals or marine shoes so you do not slip on the stone paving. Shade is limited, so do not forget a hat and plenty of drinks.
Best time to visit
Roughly 14:45 to 16:45. As the sun sinks the heat eases and play is at its most pleasant
