About this spot

A restored and maintained townhouse facility in Unumajuku, once a post town on the Nakasendo highway linking Edo and Kyoto. You can actually walk through the earthen-floored entry, the tatami rooms and the space with a sunken hearth, so you get a physical sense of how travelers and townspeople lived. Buildings with lattice doors and stone night lanterns remain along the old highway, and simply walking there conveys the atmosphere of a post town. The exhibits are compact, so the scale is right for small children to get around without losing interest. Knowing that this post town sat right beside the Kiso River (木曽川) changes how you see the wooded hills and the park you visit afterward.

各務原市の県営各務原公園にある無料の水遊び場「県営各務原公園水遊び広場(噴水広場)」です。夏場は噴水広場の中に入って遊べるようになり、2026年はおおむね6月下旬から9月上旬までの開設予定になっています。水深が浅く、対象は小学6年生以下なので、まだ泳げない小さな子でも自分の足で歩きながら水に親しめます。同じ園内に冒険広場と芝生広場、展望広場があるため、水にあきたら遊具、疲れたら芝生でひと休みと自由に行き来できるのが大きな利点です。丘陵地の公園なので風が抜けやすく、水にぬれた体には気持ちのよい環境。入園も水遊びも無料なので、午前の見学と組み合わせても1日の出費を抑えられます。

Tips

風速5メートル以上、気温25℃未満、気温35℃以上、熱中症警戒アラートの発令時は中止になります。真夏の猛暑日はかえって止まることがあるので、当日の気温と現地の掲示を必ず確認してください。開設期間と稼働時間の詳細も公式の案内で確かめておくと確実です。対象は小学6年生以下です。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけるとスムーズ。足元を守る水遊び用サンダルと、レジャーシート、帽子、多めの飲み物を用意してください。

Tips

Please check the viewing fee and opening days on the official website in advance. The facility has closed days, so a check before you leave is recommended. There are points where you step up onto tatami or wooden floors, so shoes that are easy to slip on and off make things smoother. Cars also use the old highway, so hold small children by the hand as you walk.
