Nihon Rhine Unuma Forest

About this spot

A place for hands-on nature experiences that makes use of the wooded hills in the Unuma district of Kakamigahara City. The trails are well maintained, and there are routes that take you up to a high point looking down over the Kiso River (木曽川). The nature center introduces the forest's creatures and plants, and staff will sometimes tell you which insects and birds can be seen that day. The paths run through continuous shade, which helps make them relatively easy to walk even on a summer morning. There is no need for a long hike, and just going out to a good viewpoint near the entrance and back gives you plenty of the hilltop woodland air. Keep the distance modest so you save energy for the water play in the afternoon.

各務原市の県営各務原公園にある無料の水遊び場「県営各務原公園水遊び広場(噴水広場)」です。夏場は噴水広場の中に入って遊べるようになり、2026年はおおむね6月下旬から9月上旬までの開設予定になっています。水深が浅く、対象は小学6年生以下なので、まだ泳げない小さな子でも自分の足で歩きながら水に親しめます。同じ園内に冒険広場と芝生広場、展望広場があるため、水にあきたら遊具、疲れたら芝生でひと休みと自由に行き来できるのが大きな利点です。丘陵地の公園なので風が抜けやすく、水にぬれた体には気持ちのよい環境。入園も水遊びも無料なので、午前の見学と組み合わせても1日の出費を抑えられます。

風速5メートル以上、気温25℃未満、気温35℃以上、熱中症警戒アラートの発令時は中止になります。真夏の猛暑日はかえって止まることがあるので、当日の気温と現地の掲示を必ず確認してください。開設期間と稼働時間の詳細も公式の案内で確かめておくと確実です。対象は小学6年生以下です。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけるとスムーズ。足元を守る水遊び用サンダルと、レジャーシート、帽子、多めの飲み物を用意してください。

Walking here is free. Please check the nature center's opening days and hours in the official information. These are mountain paths, so wear shoes that are easy to walk in. Mosquitoes and wasps are around in summer, so insect repellent and long trousers are reassuring. Always carry drinks with you and take frequent breaks.
