Kakamigahara Prefectural Park Water Play Plaza (Fountain Plaza)

About this spot

This is the free water play area in Kakamigahara Prefectural Park in Kakamigahara City, the Kakamigahara Prefectural Park Water Play Plaza (Fountain Plaza). In summer you can go right inside the fountain plaza to play, and in 2026 it is scheduled to be open roughly from late June to early September. The water is shallow and it is intended for children up to sixth grade, so even little ones who cannot swim yet can get used to the water while walking on their own feet. The same grounds have an adventure plaza, a lawn plaza and a lookout plaza, so a big advantage is being free to move around: play equipment when they tire of the water, a rest on the lawn when they tire out. As a park on hilly ground the breeze passes through easily, which feels good on a body wet with water. Both entry and water play are free, so even combined with the morning sightseeing you can keep the day's spending down.

Tips

It is suspended when wind speed reaches 5 meters per second or more, when the temperature is below 25 degrees Celsius or 35 degrees Celsius or above, and when a heatstroke alert is issued. On the hottest midsummer days it may in fact be stopped, so always check the temperature that day and the notices on site. Checking the details of the opening period and operating hours in the official information is the surest approach. It is intended for children up to sixth grade. Do not count on changing rooms, and putting the swimsuit on under clothes before leaving makes things smoother. Please bring water sandals to protect little feet, a leisure sheet, a hat and plenty of drinks.
