Hida Folk Village

About this spot

An open-air village museum lined with old farmhouses relocated from all over Hida. You can see the living wisdom of this land firsthand: gassho-style construction, steep roofs built to bear the weight of snow, and floor plans centered on a sunken hearth. Many of the buildings can be entered, and the smell of hearth smoke and the sight of thick beams overhead stay in a child's memory. The walking path around the pond is easy going, with seasonal flowers and mountain scenery to enjoy. Realizing that the water you will play in this afternoon also flows down from these mountains brings the connections of this land of Hida into view.

高山市の原山市民公園にある無料の水遊び場「原山市民公園水辺(浅瀬・階段状の滝)」です。流れの緩やかな広い浅瀬と、水が段になって流れ落ちる階段状の滝で構成されていて、深いところがないため小さな子でも自分の足で歩きながら遊べます。階段状の滝は水が落ちる音と手ざわりが楽しく、水が苦手な子でも手をかざすところから少しずつ慣れていけます。広い浅瀬は走り回れる子には格好の遊び場で、水をかけあう歓声が絶えません。すぐそばに大型複合遊具と芝生広場があるので、水にあきたら遊具、疲れたら芝生でひと休みと行き来できるのも助かるところ。標高のある飛騨は真夏でも空気が乾いていて、水遊びのあとが快適なのもこの土地ならではです。

2026年の水遊びの開設期間は未発表です。出発前に必ず高山市の案内で確認してください。公園そのものは終日自由に入園できますが、水が流れていない日もあります。石で足を切らないよう、水遊び用サンダルやマリンシューズを必ず用意しましょう。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけるとスムーズです。山あいなので夕方は急に涼しくなります。上着とタオルを多めに持っていくと安心です。日陰が限られるので、レジャーシートと帽子、多めの飲み物も忘れずに。

Tips

Admission is charged. Check the price and opening hours on the official website in advance. You will be walking outdoors, so do not forget a hat and drinks. Since you step up into the buildings, shoes that are easy to slip on and off are handy. There are slopes and steps, so on some stretches a baby carrier is easier to move in than a stroller.
