A museum whose collection centers on glass art from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras. The plant motifs sealed inside translucent glass and the stained glass that shifts color as it catches the light strike even children with no knowledge of art as simply beautiful. The interior is a calm space, just right for passing the hours of strong sunshine in cool comfort. There is somewhere to eat and drink, so it is convenient to drop in over lunch as well. Once you notice how well glass goes with water and light, the way the waterside looks in the afternoon changes a little too.

高山市の原山市民公園にある無料の水遊び場「原山市民公園水辺(浅瀬・階段状の滝)」です。流れの緩やかな広い浅瀬と、水が段になって流れ落ちる階段状の滝で構成されていて、深いところがないため小さな子でも自分の足で歩きながら遊べます。階段状の滝は水が落ちる音と手ざわりが楽しく、水が苦手な子でも手をかざすところから少しずつ慣れていけます。広い浅瀬は走り回れる子には格好の遊び場で、水をかけあう歓声が絶えません。すぐそばに大型複合遊具と芝生広場があるので、水にあきたら遊具、疲れたら芝生でひと休みと行き来できるのも助かるところ。標高のある飛騨は真夏でも空気が乾いていて、水遊びのあとが快適なのもこの土地ならではです。

2026年の水遊びの開設期間は未発表です。出発前に必ず高山市の案内で確認してください。公園そのものは終日自由に入園できますが、水が流れていない日もあります。石で足を切らないよう、水遊び用サンダルやマリンシューズを必ず用意しましょう。更衣室は想定せず、水着を服の下に着てから出かけるとスムーズです。山あいなので夕方は急に涼しくなります。上着とタオルを多めに持っていくと安心です。日陰が限られるので、レジャーシートと帽子、多めの飲み物も忘れずに。

Tips

Admission is charged. Check the price and opening days on the official website in advance. There are many glass exhibits, so hold small children by the hand as you go around. The dining facility inside may have limited hours, so if you definitely want to eat, check ahead or bring a packed lunch. Leaving your water-play gear in the car keeps you light on your feet.
