Hirugano Highland Bokka no Sato splash pond

This is the water play area inside the kids park of Hirugano Highland Bokka no Sato, a leisure facility in Takasu-cho, Gujo City (郡上市高鷲町). In 2026 it can be used from Saturday, July 4 through mid-September, from opening time until 16:30. Because it sits on Hirugano Highland at an altitude of 1,000 meters, the air is cooler than on the plains, and the greatest charm is a climate in which children can play comfortably even in midsummer. The pond is built shallow, so even small children who cannot yet swim can get to know the water while walking on their own two feet. Flower fields and pasture spread out all around, so you are free to go and see the animals between dips or rest on the grass. It is a place worth devoting a whole day of your summer holiday trip to, right here in the highlands.

Tips

You may not enter the splash pond in outdoor shoes. Go barefoot or bring water sandals. Children who are not yet out of nappies must wear swim nappies. There is no dedicated changing room, so put swimsuits on under clothes before you leave and be ready to change quickly with a towel on the way home. It is cancelled in rain. Check whether it is running that day on the official website or the on-site information. Use ends at 16:30, so start packing up with that time in mind. Admission is charged. Best time to visit

A rough guide is 13:30 to 16:30. On a highland afternoon the breeze is cool even in sunshine, so it is a comfortable time to be out of the water too
