About this spot

This is a large rest facility in Kojima that can be entered from both the expressway and ordinary roads. It has a food court and shops, so you can browse menus using Seto Inland Sea ingredients and Okayama souvenirs all in one place. Outside there is an open plaza and play equipment, so you can also make time to move around a little after eating. Because it stands on high ground, you can dine while gazing at the Seto Inland Sea and the bridge from inside. Get any extra towels and drinks you need for the afternoon water play here too.

倉敷市児島にある「児島地区公園ポップジェット噴水」は、地面から水柱が吹き上がる無料の水遊びスポットです。水の出る場所とタイミングが切り替わるので、子どもたちは次はどこから出るかを予想しながら走り回ることになり、単純な仕掛けなのに驚くほど長く遊べます。足元だけが濡れる遊び方なので、まだ泳げない小さな子でも一緒に参加できるのが利点です。同じ敷地には飛び込み台を備えた児島マリンプールが併設されていて、こちらは有料の別施設。泳ぎたい気分の日はプール、気軽に涼みたい日は噴水と、その日の体力に合わせて選べます。デニムの町・児島の中心近くにあり、午前の観光からそのまま流れ込めるのも便利なところです。

2026年の噴水の開設期間は未発表です。例年は夏休み期間なので、出発前に倉敷市の案内で当日水が出るかを確認してください。児島マリンプールは有料の別施設で、料金や利用時間、遊泳の条件が噴水とは異なります。利用する場合は先に確認しておきましょう。噴水まわりの床は濡れるとすべりやすいので、走らないよう声をかけ、脱げにくいサンダルかマリンシューズを履かせてください。着替えとタオル、濡れた服を入れるビニール袋は人数分そろえておくと安心です。

Shop hours and open days can change, so it is safest to check the official information before heading over. Seats fill up around noon on weekends and holidays, so going a little earlier or shifting to after 13:00 lets you eat in peace. The parking lots are separate for the ordinary-road side and the expressway side, so deciding which entrance to use in advance saves confusion. Rather than getting into the water right after eating, using the drive to the park as rest time makes for just the right flow.
