About this spot

A viewpoint set along Okayama Prefectural Route Washuzan Park Line (formerly the Washuzan Skyline), which crosses the hills of Kojima in Kurashiki City. This road is a scenic drive of about 18.5 kilometers connecting Shimotsui-Tanoura to Hiroe, and its night view overlooking the Mizushima Industrial Area has been selected as one of the ‘100 Best Night Views of Japan’ and a ‘Japan Night View Heritage’ site. From this elevated spot you can look out over the streets of Kojima and get a sense of the layout of the area you'll be exploring today before heading to the afternoon's water play.

Tips

Since the viewpoint is along the road, park only in the designated spaces and watch out for passing vehicles. It can be windy at high points, so be careful not to let hats blow away. Once you've enjoyed the view, it's a good idea to wrap up early to prepare for lunch and the afternoon's water play.

Best time to visit

About 30 minutes. On clear days, daytime hours make it easier to see the streets of Kojima
