This is a municipal museum on the theme of Okayama's nature, located in one corner of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter (倉敷美観地区). Rock strata, fossils, and specimens of plants, animals, and insects are on display, with exhibits centered on letting children see the real thing right in front of them. It is not too large, so even small children can make a full circuit while their concentration lasts. It also works well as a rest stop for cooling down bodies overheated from walking outside, making it just right to round off the morning. Combined with a stroll through the Bikan Quarter, you can enjoy both the townscape and nature in a single day.

JR倉敷駅の北側に広がる「倉敷みらい公園水遊び場」は、こかげデッキの横に設けられた無料の水遊びスポットです。音楽に合わせて水が出るポップジェット噴水なので、曲に合わせて水柱が上下する動きそのものが遊びになり、小さな子でも自然と歓声があがります。水飲みと手洗いが設置されていて、遊んだあとの砂や汗を流せるのが家族連れにはありがたいところ。約2.1haの芝生広場と複合遊具、空中木デッキが同じ園内にそろっているので、水に飽きたら遊具、疲れたらデッキの日陰へと移動できます。アリオ倉敷や三井アウトレットパーク倉敷に隣接しているため、忘れ物があってもすぐ買い足せる安心感があります。

2026年の水遊び場の稼働期間は未発表です。例年は夏休み期間なので、出発前に倉敷市の案内で当日水が出るかを確認してください。芝生広場は日陰が限られるので、レジャーシートやポップアップテントで休憩場所を作ると長時間でも疲れにくくなります。噴水まわりは濡れるとすべりやすいため、走らないよう声をかけましょう。着替えとタオル、濡れた服を入れるビニール袋は人数分そろえておくと帰りが楽です。
