Kurashiki Mirai Park Water Play Area
About this spot
The Kurashiki Mirai Park Water Play Area, spreading across the north side of JR Kurashiki Station (倉敷駅), is a free water-play spot set beside the Kokage Deck. Because it is a pop jet fountain whose water comes out in time with music, the very movement of the columns rising and falling to the tune becomes the game, and even small children naturally cheer. Drinking fountains and handwashing facilities are installed, so being able to rinse off sand and sweat after playing is a real plus for families. A lawn plaza of about 2.1 hectares, combination play equipment, and an elevated wooden deck are all in the same park, so you can move to the play equipment when you tire of the water and to the shade of the deck when you are worn out. Since it adjoins Ario Kurashiki and Mitsui Outlet Park Kurashiki, there is the reassurance that anything you forgot can be bought right away.

Tips
The water play area's operating season for 2026 has not been announced. It usually runs during the summer holidays, so check with Kurashiki City's information before you set out to confirm the water will be on that day. Shade is limited on the lawn plaza, so setting up a rest spot with a picnic sheet or pop-up tent makes long stays much less tiring. The area around the fountain gets slippery when wet, so remind everyone not to run. Having a change of clothes, towels, and a plastic bag for wet clothes for everyone in your group makes the trip home much easier.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours 30 minutes. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is recommended.
