About this spot

The wide lawn plaza inside Mizushima Central Park is a perfect spot to spread out a boxed lunch. A steam locomotive is on display in the park, and the way it ties back to the memory of riding the Mizushima Rinkai Railway that morning is one of the fun parts of this course. Looking up close at the large black body has a very different impact from seeing it in photos. Large play equipment is also in the same park, so you can create a flow of moving a bit after eating before heading to the water play. There are benches under the trees, which is also helpful for accompanying adults to take turns resting.

Tips

Shade is limited to under the trees, so a picnic sheet or pop-up tent makes breaks easier. As a rule, take your trash home with you. Some parts of the displayed train car can be climbed on and some can't, so follow the on-site signage. Going straight into water right after eating puts strain on the body, so playing on the equipment for about 30 minutes before heading to the fountain is a good flow.

About 1 hour. Choosing the shade under the trees makes it comfortable even around midday
