Kasaoka Kodai-no-Oka Sports Park Fureai Plaza Wave Fountain (かさおか古代の丘スポーツ公園 ふれあい広場 ウェーブ噴水)

About this spot

The Wave Fountain at Fureai Plaza in Kasaoka Kodai-no-Oka Sports Park in Kasaoka City is a free water-play spot designed with play in mind. Water columns are arranged in a circle around the sculpture set at the center of the plaza, and because they rise and fall in sequence the motion looks like a wave — hence the name wave fountain. The joy of this fountain is that children invent their own ways to play: reading the timing and dashing through, or deliberately waiting directly underneath to get drenched. It is fitted with night lighting, so its after-dark face is well known too. The children's plaza with its large dinosaur playset is right nearby, so when they tire of the water they can switch to the play equipment. The fountain runs from 10:00 to 16:00.

Tips

The 2026 operating period has not been announced. It usually runs over the summer holidays, so check the Kasaoka City information before you set out to confirm the water will be on that day. The fountain stops at 16:00, so allow plenty of time and avoid arriving late. The plaza floor is slippery when wet, so remind children not to run and have them wear sandals that will not slip off, or water shoes. There is little shade, so return to the covered rest area regularly for drinks. Having a change of clothes, a towel and a plastic bag for wet clothing for each person makes the trip home much easier.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours 45 minutes. Since it stops at 16:00, starting early in the afternoon is recommended
