Amakusa Park Jabujabu Pond Fountain

About this spot

The Jabujabu Pond Fountain at Amakusa Park in Asakuchi City is a shallow fountain pond about 10 cm deep, set inside Rocket Plaza. There is almost no depth to it, so even small children who are not used to water can stand on their own feet and play, making it well suited to a first water-play debut. Taking the spray falling from the fountain, or slapping the surface and enjoying the splash-back — how to play is up to the child. Large combination playsets themed on stars and space stand all around, so as soon as they get cold they can move to the equipment and dry off. Admission is free, making it an easy, everyday water-play spot in Asakuchi City.

Tips

The 2026 operating period has not been announced. In 2024 it ran from 29 June to 29 September, 10:00 to 16:00, closed on Mondays (open on public holidays). Check this year's dates and closing day with the Asakuchi City information before you set out. The bottom of the pond is slippery when wet, so have children wear sandals that will not slip off, or water shoes, and remind them not to run. Shade is limited to the stand of trees, so take regular breaks and keep drinking water. Having a change of clothes, a towel and a plastic bag for wet clothing for each person makes the trip home much easier.
