About this spot

This is a spacious park laid out within the Kibi Highlands. Gentle lawns and stands of trees stretch on and on, and the sheer openness of the unobstructed sky leaves a strong impression. Because the elevation is high the breeze is cooler than in town, so walking around is no hardship even on a summer morning. There is no set way to play here, which children love: they can run, lie down on the grass, or hunt for insects in the shade as they please. It sits right next to Kibi Plaza, making it easy to combine with the water play before or after.

加賀郡吉備中央町のきびプラザにある「にじいろ広場水遊び場」は、屋外広場に設けられた無料の水遊びスポットです。水遊び場のほかに長いローラーコースターや複合遊具があり、濡れて冷えたら滑り台、乾いたらまた水へと、行き来しながら遊べるのがこの広場の楽しいところ。屋内には子どもひろば「キッズパーク」も併設されているので、日ざしが強すぎる時間や急な雨のときの逃げ場があるのも安心です。隣接する吉備中央公園も自由に使えるため、遊び足りない日は場所を広げられます。吉備高原は標高が高く、市街地より風が涼しいので、夏の水遊びが体にやさしいのもこの土地ならではです。

Tips

水遊び場の運転は10:00〜15:00です。例年5〜9月は土日祝の運転、夏休み期間は毎日の運転ですが、2026年の具体的な開設期間は未発表なので、出発前に吉備中央町の案内で確認してください。終了が15時と早いため、午後の予定は逆算して組み立てましょう。高原は日ざしが強く、朝夕は涼しくなるので、帽子と羽織りものの両方があると快適です。着替えとタオル、濡れた服を入れるビニール袋は人数分そろえておくと帰りが楽になります。

Tips

Shade is limited to the areas under the trees, so walk with a hat and something to drink. The grounds are wide, so deciding on a meeting point in advance prevents anyone from getting lost. There are insects in the grassy areas, so insect repellent and clothing that does not leave too much skin exposed are reassuring. Some spots turn muddy after rain, so shoes you do not mind getting dirty are a good choice.
