Indoors there is a children's space called Kids Park, a dependable refuge on bad-weather days or during the hours when the sun is strongest. The Rainbow Plaza water play area sits in this facility's outdoor plaza, so you can move straight from your meal to playing in the water, which is wonderfully efficient. 加賀郡吉備中央町のきびプラザにある「にじいろ広場水遊び場」は、屋外広場に設けられた無料の水遊びスポットです。水遊び場のほかに長いローラーコースターや複合遊具があり、濡れて冷えたら滑り台、乾いたらまた水へと、行き来しながら遊べるのがこの広場の楽しいところ。屋内には子どもひろば「キッズパーク」も併設されているので、日ざしが強すぎる時間や急な雨のときの逃げ場があるのも安心です。隣接する吉備中央公園も自由に使えるため、遊び足りない日は場所を広げられます。吉備高原は標高が高く、市街地より風が涼しいので、夏の水遊びが体にやさしいのもこの土地ならではです。

水遊び場の運転は10:00〜15:00です。例年5〜9月は土日祝の運転、夏休み期間は毎日の運転ですが、2026年の具体的な開設期間は未発表なので、出発前に吉備中央町の案内で確認してください。終了が15時と早いため、午後の予定は逆算して組み立てましょう。高原は日ざしが強く、朝夕は涼しくなるので、帽子と羽織りものの両方があると快適です。着替えとタオル、濡れた服を入れるビニール袋は人数分そろえておくと帰りが楽になります。

The water play area runs only until 15:00, so take care not to spend too long over lunch. Getting into the water right after eating is hard on the body, so moving around a little at Kids Park before heading outside makes for just the right pace. Rather than leaving your change of clothes in the car, carry it over near the water play area to make things easier.
