The Takizawa Sogo Park Rock Garden Water Curtain is a free water-play spot in Takizawa Sogo Park in Takizawa City. It is a large installation in which water pours down a natural stone face 3 m high and 25 m wide, and you can feel the air turn cool just by standing near it. Neither a pool nor a shallow paddling pond, its unique appeal is that you can charge straight at a wall of water. For fiscal 2026 it is scheduled to run from Saturday, May 9 until early September, on an automatic timer from 9:00 to 17:00. Around it spread a lawn plaza, a Japanese garden, and Fureai no Mori with its large adventure playground, so when you get wet and chilly you can dry off in the sun and then go back to the water, keeping up the rhythm until evening.

Tips

Operation is suspended without notice in heavy rain, strong wind, or when the water supply runs low. Check the Takizawa City information for that day's operating status before you leave. Natural stone becomes extremely slippery when wet, so footwear that protects your feet, such as water shoes, is essential. Avoid bare feet and flip-flops. Be sure to tell children not to climb the stone face. Changing space is limited, so wearing swimwear underneath makes things easier. Shade is limited, so remember sun protection and frequent hydration. In May and September the water is cold and the wind chilly, so bring an extra layer and plenty of towels. Please take all rubbish home with you.
