This area within the same Takizawa Sogo Park as the Water Curtain brings together large adventure structures, combination play equipment, and climbing frames. The recommended flow is to spread a picnic sheet on the lawn plaza for lunch first, then work it off on the play equipment. A quiet Japanese garden nearby makes a fine post-meal stroll, offering a calm contrast to the liveliness of the playground. Because it is all within the same park, you barely have to move your luggage, and the water play area is only steps away. On a clear day you can spend your time in wide-open scenery with views of Mt. Iwate (岩手山).

滝沢市の滝沢総合公園にある無料の水遊びスポットが「滝沢総合公園ロックガーデンウォーターカーテン」です。高さ3m・幅25mという自然石の壁面を水が流れ落ちる大きな仕掛けで、そばに立つだけで空気がひんやりと変わるのが分かります。プールでもじゃぶじゃぶ池でもない、水の壁に向かって突っ込んでいくという遊び方ができるのがここならではの魅力です。令和8年度(2026年度)は5月9日(土)から9月上旬までの稼働を予定しており、運転時間は9時から17時までのタイマー自動運転。まわりには芝生広場、日本庭園、大型アスレチックのあるふれあいの森が広がっているので、濡れて冷えたら日なたで乾かし、また水へ、と行き来しながら夕方まで過ごせます。

Tips

大雨・強風・貯水量不足の場合は予告なく運転が休止されます。出発前に滝沢市の案内で当日の稼働状況を確認してください。自然石は濡れると非常に滑りやすいため、マリンシューズなど足を守れる履物が必須です。裸足やビーチサンダルは避けてください。石の壁面をよじ登らないよう子どもに必ず伝えましょう。着替え場所は限られるので、水着を下に着ていくとスムーズです。日陰が限られるため日よけとこまめな水分補給を忘れずに。5月や9月は水が冷たく風も冷えるので、羽織るものとタオルを多めに用意してください。ゴミは各自持ち帰りです。

Tips

There is no guarantee of dining facilities inside the park, so bringing your own packed lunch and drinks is the safe choice. As a rule, take your rubbish home. In summer the metal parts of the play equipment get hot, so touch them to check the temperature before use. Sandals catch easily on play structures, so closed shoes with heel straps are safer. Avoid entering the water straight after eating; waiting about 30 minutes before heading to the Water Curtain is wiser. In the Japanese garden, keep an eye on children so they do not get too close to the water's edge.
