Bayside Beach Saka

About this spot

This is an artificial sandy beach about 1.2 km long, developed along the coast of Saka Town in Aki District. It stretches long and narrow beside National Route 31 and the JR Kure Line (JR呉線), and you can walk along the water's edge while looking out at the islands on the far shore. In the morning there are few people, so collecting shells and playing in the sand at a leisurely pace is the real appeal. It is only about 10 minutes by car from Kure Portopia Park, making it a perfect detour to soak up the sea air before your water play. There are also lawn rest areas, showers and toilets, so it is an easy shoreline to visit with small children.

呉ポートピアパークじゃぶじゃぶ池・めだか池は、2026年は6月28日(日)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜16:00に開設される無料の水遊び場です。当初は6月27日(土)開始の予定でしたが、悪天候のため6月28日(日)開始に延期されました。浅い水面で思いきり水しぶきをあげられるじゃぶじゃぶ池と、生きものをのぞき込めるめだか池が並んでいて、小さな子から小学生まで楽しみ方を選べます。入園料も駐車場も無料なので、思い立った日にふらりと出かけられるのもうれしいところ。簡易シャワーがあるので、遊んだあとに体を流してから帰れます。海沿いの公園らしく風が抜け、木陰で休みながら長く過ごせる水遊び場です。

Tips

利用には水着の着用が必須です。水遊びパンツでの利用も可能で、会場では水着の販売もあります。更衣室はないので、水着を服の下に着てから出かけると着替えがスムーズです。小学3年生以下は保護者の同伴が必要です。雨天・荒天のときは終日休止または途中で休止になることがあるため、出発前に天気と最新のお知らせを確認してください。園内に飲食店はないので、飲み物は多めに持参しましょう。

Tips

There is free parking, but it fills up from before noon on summer holidays. Early in the morning it is easier to park and the sun is still gentle. The swimming season and whether lifeguards are on duty change from year to year, so check the information from Saka Town if you plan to swim. Sand gets into shoes easily, so sandals or footwear you do not mind getting wet are recommended.
