About this spot

The symbol of Hiroshima Botanical Garden is its Large Greenhouse, one of the largest in Japan. Tropical trees reaching to the ceiling and vivid flowers bloom all year round, opening up a world entirely different from the scenery outside. Plants children usually only see in picture books are right in front of them, so the questions never stop. The grounds are hilly, but the walkways are well maintained, and at an easy pace you can cover the highlights in about an hour. With afternoon water play ahead, we recommend not overdoing it and focusing on the main greenhouses.

広島市植物公園水遊び広場(サマーフェア)は、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月31日(月)まで開かれる夏限定の水遊び場です。天然芝の広場に、やさしい水量の噴水とミストシャワーが設けられ、芝生なので転んでも安心して走り回れます。噴水が出るのは10:30・11:00・11:30・13:30・14:00・14:30の1日6回で、1回につき10分間。13:20に到着すれば、午後の3回を続けて楽しめます。水遊び広場の追加料金はなく、入園料だけで利用できるのもうれしいところ(大人510円、65歳以上・高校生相当170円、中学生以下無料)。噴水の合間はミストで涼みながら、まわりの花を眺めてのんびり過ごせます。

Tips

噴水の時間は10:30/11:00/11:30/13:30/14:00/14:30の6回・各10分です。時間が来る少し前に場所を確保しておきましょう。雨天のときは中止になるため、出発前に天気と公式サイトの案内を確認してください。水遊び広場の追加料金はなく、必要なのは入園料だけです。着替えの場所が限られるので、水着を服の下に着ていくとスムーズ。芝生は水を含むと滑りやすくなるので、走りすぎないよう声をかけてあげてください。

Tips

Admission is 510 yen for adults, 170 yen for visitors aged 65 and over and high-school-age visitors, and free for junior-high-school age and younger (there is no extra charge for the water play plaza). The greenhouses get quite hot and humid in summer, so carry drinks and break the visit into shorter stretches. Most paths are stroller-accessible, but there are slopes, so choose a route that is comfortable for you. Check opening hours and closing days on the official website.
