About this spot

After leaving the greenhouse, have lunch on one of the open lawns in the garden. It is a spacious spot ringed by seasonal flower beds, and simply spreading a sheet and eating your lunch box there feels like a picnic. The grass is soft enough that children can roll around safely, and it is just the right time to cool down before the water play. Choose a spot with shade and the breeze passes through pleasantly, so even midsummer feels surprisingly relaxed. The afternoon fountain starts at 13:30, so work backwards and finish eating in good time.

広島市植物公園水遊び広場(サマーフェア)は、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月31日(月)まで開かれる夏限定の水遊び場です。天然芝の広場に、やさしい水量の噴水とミストシャワーが設けられ、芝生なので転んでも安心して走り回れます。噴水が出るのは10:30・11:00・11:30・13:30・14:00・14:30の1日6回で、1回につき10分間。13:20に到着すれば、午後の3回を続けて楽しめます。水遊び広場の追加料金はなく、入園料だけで利用できるのもうれしいところ(大人510円、65歳以上・高校生相当170円、中学生以下無料)。噴水の合間はミストで涼みながら、まわりの花を眺めてのんびり過ごせます。

Tips

噴水の時間は10:30/11:00/11:30/13:30/14:00/14:30の6回・各10分です。時間が来る少し前に場所を確保しておきましょう。雨天のときは中止になるため、出発前に天気と公式サイトの案内を確認してください。水遊び広場の追加料金はなく、必要なのは入園料だけです。着替えの場所が限られるので、水着を服の下に着ていくとスムーズ。芝生は水を含むと滑りやすくなるので、走りすぎないよう声をかけてあげてください。

Tips

There are dining areas in the garden, but they can get crowded, so bringing a lunch box is the sure bet. As a rule, take your rubbish home with you. Shade on the lawn is limited, so secure a spot under the trees first. Avoid water play immediately after eating; resting a little before moving on is the safer approach.
