The Water Play Plaza (Summer Fair) at Hiroshima Botanical Garden is a summer-only water play area, open in 2026 from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, August 31. A gentle fountain and a mist shower are set up on a natural turf plaza, and because it is grass, children can run around safely even if they fall. The fountain runs six times a day, at 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 13:30, 14:00 and 14:30, for 10 minutes each time. Arrive at 13:20 and you can enjoy all three afternoon rounds in a row. There is no extra charge for the water play plaza, so the admission fee is all you need, which is another plus (510 yen for adults, 170 yen for visitors aged 65 and over and high-school-age visitors, free for junior-high-school age and younger). Between rounds you can cool off in the mist and relax while looking at the flowers around you.
