Sera Prefectural Park (Sera Yume Park) Exchange Plaza Mist Fountain
About this spot
The Sera Prefectural Park Exchange Plaza Mist Fountain is a water play spot where mist-like water rises at regular intervals from the ground of the circular Exchange Plaza. There is no depth as there would be in a pool, so even children who have just started walking can join in, and children who are afraid of water can approach the mist gradually from the outside. Waiting for the moment the mist rises is fun in itself, and the whole plaza cheers as it appears. Both admission and parking are free, so you can head out on a whim any day. A 31-metre slide and a mini steam train are right next door, so you can move freely to the play equipment when you tire of the water and back to the water when you work up a sweat. Being on the highlands, the air is dry, making it a water play spot more comfortable than the city even in midsummer.
Tips
The park is closed on Tuesdays, except on public holidays and during event periods. Always check the day of the week before you set out. The 2026 opening period has not been announced, so check the latest information before you go. The plaza surface is slippery when wet, so remind children not to run. In case there is no dedicated changing room, wearing swimwear under clothes makes things go smoothly. The highlands cool down from the evening, so bringing an extra layer and plenty of towels is reassuring.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 45 minutes. After 15:00 the sun softens and it becomes even easier to play
