The Ehime Children's Castle Splash Waterway is a water-play facility in the Activity Zone -NEXT- of Ehime Children's Castle in Nishinomachi, Matsuyama. Water falls from a fountain at the top of the slope into the channel below, so instead of swimming as in a pool, the fun comes from chasing the current or damming it up. The water is shallow and you can walk along the flow, so even small children can play at their own pace. Admission is free, and the only cost is 300 yen per parking session. The official information only says that it is available during the summer season, and the 2026 operating period has not been announced, so be sure to check before you set out. It may also close for maintenance.

Tips

This is a waterway rather than a pool, so do not assume changing rooms or showers are available; bring clothes that can get wet and a plan for changing in the car. The bottom of the channel and the slope are slippery, so always have children wear sandals that will not slip off or water shoes. Small children should wear swim diapers. It may close for maintenance, and if you hear thunder, stop playing immediately. Parking is 300 yen per session and tends to fill up around midday on summer holiday weekends.
