About this spot

This is the 48th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, just a short walk from Jonofuchi Park. The tale that Kobo Daishi struck his staff into the ground and made water spring forth has been handed down locally as the story linking this temple with Jonofuchi. The precincts are quiet and surrounded by trees, and a visit in the cool morning hours feels especially pleasant. For children, the sight of pilgrims in white robes coming and going is a scene unique to Matsuyama. Talking on the way about where the spring water they are about to play in comes from makes the afternoon far richer.

「杖ノ淵公園水遊び場（親水広場）」は、全国名水百選に選ばれた湧水池から流れ出す水を、そのまま浅い水路と広場で楽しめる松山市南高井町の水遊びスポットです。水は真夏でもひんやりと冷たく、足を入れた瞬間の子どもたちの声で、その冷たさがすぐに伝わります。水深は浅く、流れもゆるやかなので、はじめての水遊びにも向いています。周囲を木々が囲んでいて日陰が多く、休憩しながら長い時間過ごせるのもこの公園ならでは。入園も水遊びも無料で、通年開放されている親水公園です。2026年の夏季の開設期間は未発表なので、出発前に松山市の公式案内で状況を確認してから向かいましょう。

Tips

水底の石でつまずいたり滑ったりしやすいため、脱げにくいサンダルかマリンシューズを履かせてください。プールではなく親水広場なので、更衣室やシャワーは前提にせず、濡れてもよい服や車内で着替えられる準備をしていくと安心です。小さな子は水遊び用おむつを着用しましょう。清掃やメンテナンスで水を止めている日があるほか、大雨のあとは水がにごることがあります。駐車場は37台（うち身障者用2台）と少なく、駐車場の利用時間は4〜9月が8:00〜19:00です。

Tips

Please stay quiet in the precincts rather than running about. There is plenty of shade, but summer mornings are humid, so bringing a water bottle is reassuring. Parking space is limited, so in busy periods it is easier to park at Jonofuchi Park and walk over.
