Kawanoe Fureai Park Fountain

About this spot

The Kawanoe Fureai Park Fountain is a free water-play spot inside the Kawanoe Fureai Exchange Center in Kawanoe-cho, Shikokuchuo City. It is built to shoot water up in a variety of patterns, so even the time spent waiting to see where the next jet will rise becomes part of the fun. Because there is no depth as in a pool, even small children can stand on their own feet and play, which is reassuring. A foot-washing area sits right beside it, so you can rinse off sand and dirt before heading home. The bouncy dome, sandpit, toddler play equipment and the lawn area with its 100 m loop are all in the same park, so you can move back and forth between water and land. The 2026 operating period has not been announced yet, and in past years it has opened during the summer holidays, so please be sure to check Shikokuchuo City's official guidance before you set out.

Tips

The area around the fountain gets wet and slippery, so have children wear sandals that do not come off easily or water shoes, and remind them not to run around too much. There are no changing rooms or showers, so wear clothes that can get wet, or be ready to change in the car for peace of mind. Small children should wear swim diapers. Facilities in the park close at 17:00, so wrap up water play by 16:45 to leave time for the foot-washing area and changing. Use may be restricted in rain and similar conditions, and if you hear thunder, stop playing immediately. As a rule, please take your trash home.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours. In the afternoon, when the sunlight softens, the spray sparkles beautifully
