Obu Midori Park Splash Pond

About this spot

The Obu Midori Park Splash Pond is a free water-play area in Obu Midori Park in Obu City. It is open year-round on a fiscal-year basis (April 1 to March 31), and fiscal 2026 will run according to the same cleaning calendar. A fountain rises about five meters from the tiled plaza, and children are thrilled just ducking under the water or running through it. It is not a deep pond, so the layout makes it easy for parents to keep watch nearby even with small children. A barbecue area and a management office share the park, which makes it easy to build a family day around it. Since it is free, you can also simply drop in for a short while.

Tips

The fountain does not run on the management building's closed days (Mondays, or the following day when Monday is a public holiday). Cleaning takes place Mondays 9:00-12:00 and Thursdays 9:00-11:00, set at 40 days a year, and the area cannot be used during those hours. Avoid Mondays, and on a Thursday visit in the afternoon to be safe. Check the cleaning calendar on the official website in advance for how your chosen day will run. After water play, rinse off well at the taps and take breaks in the shade to prevent heatstroke. Children still in diapers should wear swim diapers.
