Mississauga Park (猿渡公園)

About this spot

A park Kariya City created as a token of friendship with its sister city, Mississauga, Canada. The open layout of broad lawns and flower beds makes it just right for spreading a sheet and eating a bento. You are free to play on the equipment first and then eat, or eat and then stretch out on the grass. The traffic children's park is only a short drive away, so no time is lost getting to the afternoon water play. There are benches in the shade as well, so on a strong sunny day pick a spot under the trees.

刈谷市交通児童遊園にある無料の水遊び場、「刈谷市交通児童遊園じゃぶじゃぶ噴水池」です。2026年は6月1日(月)から運用が始まり、9月30日(水)まで9:00〜16:00で利用できます。入園も水遊びも無料で、費用がかかるのは大型遊具の1回50円だけ。水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と、子どもが自分のペースで遊び続けられるのがこの公園のよいところです。おむつ替え用ベッド・授乳室・AED・車いす用トイレが整っており、赤ちゃん連れや小さな子連れでも安心して長居できます。無料なので、夕方に少しだけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

水曜は休園日です(祝日の場合は翌日が休み)。2026年8月6日(木)は設備修繕のため休止なので、この日は避けて計画してください。16:00までの運用なので、片付けと着替えの時間を逆算して15時半ごろには水から上がると落ち着いて帰れます。水遊び後は水道で体をよく流し、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。おむつが取れていない子には水遊び用おむつを用意してください。

Tips

Whether a kiosk is open in the park can vary by day, so preparing your bento and drinks in advance is the sure approach. Taking your trash home is the rule. Getting into the water straight after eating is hard on the body, so resting for about 30 minutes before heading to the traffic children's park makes for a comfortable pace.
