Shimin Shiki no Mori (Komaki City General Park)

About this spot

This is a lawn plaza with fine views spreading across the center of Shimin Shiki no Mori. Little blocks the view and it feels wonderfully open, perfect for laying out a picnic sheet and eating a bento. After the meal you can lie down and rest or play a little with a ball, each at their own pace as a family. The park has seven restrooms, six of which are wheelchair accessible and fitted with baby changing tables, so it is reassuring even with small children. Rainbow Falls is just a short walk away, so you can move smoothly from your break to water play.

小牧市の市民四季の森にある無料の水遊び場、「小牧市総合公園市民四季の森虹の滝」です。ミストの噴出期間は3月1日(日)から10月31日(土)までで、6月から8月は9:00〜19:00と夜まで長く楽しめます。11月ごろから2月ごろまでは噴出を休止するので、水遊び目当てなら春から秋に訪れましょう。細かな霧が降りそそぐ中を走り抜ける遊びは、深い水が苦手な小さな子でも楽しみやすいのが魅力です。園内にはトイレが7か所あり、うち6か所は車椅子対応でベビーシートを備え、授乳室もソリスベリ管理棟内に用意されています。料金は無料なので、夕方に少しだけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

5月の第2・第4木曜と、6月から9月の毎週木曜は清掃日で水に入れません。第4木曜は休園日でもあるため、木曜は避けて計画するのが確実です。6月から8月は19:00まで噴出しているので、日差しを避けて夕方から遊ぶ計画も立てられます。足元が滑りやすいのでマリンシューズがあると安心。水遊び後は体をよく流し、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。

Tips

There is little shade, so claiming a spot near a tree or under a parasol is more comfortable. Entering the water right after eating is hard on the body, so resting for about 30 minutes before heading to Rainbow Falls makes for just the right pace. As a rule, take your rubbish home with you.
