Kasaiwa Bridge (笠岩橋)

About this spot

This is a vermilion bridge spanning the Toyokawa River (豊川), which flows through Sakurabuchi Park (桜淵公園). Amid scenery of deep greenery, rocks and clear river currents, the red railings stand out beautifully. Peering down from the bridge, you can see the flow of the river clearly, and children watch the water surface without getting bored. Sakurabuchi Park is a scenic spot also called Sakura-ga-Fuchi of Mikawa, and beyond the cherry blossoms of spring, its deep summer greenery is well worth seeing. Walking along the riverside before playing in the fountain lets you feel that this park is a place blessed with water.

新城市の桜淵公園にある無料の水遊び場、「桜淵公園大芝生広場の噴水」です。2026年は7月15日(水)から9月15日(火)までの予定で、10:00〜16:00に5分間隔で噴水が出ます。水が止まっている間に近くまで行って構え、吹き上がった瞬間に駆け込む、という遊び方が子どもたちに人気。広い芝生に囲まれているので、遊び疲れたらそのまま座って休めます。豊川の渓谷に沿った景勝地の中にあり、まわりの緑と川の風景ごと楽しめるのがこの場所ならではの魅力です。料金は無料なので、短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

開設期間はあくまで予定なので、出発前に新城市の公式サイトで当日の稼働を確認してください。設備についての公表がないため、着替えの場所やトイレの位置は現地で早めに確認しておくと安心です。芝生は雨上がりだとぬかるむことがあるので、汚れてもよい靴とレジャーシートがあると快適。16:00で噴水が止まるので、片付けと着替えの時間を逆算して15時半ごろには上がると落ち着いて帰れます。水遊び後は体をよく流し、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。

Tips

There are spots where you can approach the river, but the current becomes fast when the water rises or after rain, so it is safer to look from the bridge rather than going down to the water's edge. The park paths have ups and downs, so easy-to-walk shoes are suitable. There is plenty of shade, but do not forget to bring drinks.
