This roadside station beside the Shinshiro Interchange serves as the gateway to Okumikawa (奥三河). It combines a direct-sales corner lined with local farm produce and processed goods with a dining space, so every family member can choose what they want to eat. The signature gohei-mochi rice skewers (五平餅) whet the appetite with the fragrance of their savory glaze and are popular with children too. The building, which makes generous use of wood, is bright and open, with just the right atmosphere for a break before outdoor play. Sakurabuchi Park (桜淵公園) is only a few minutes away by car, so stocking up on drinks and snacks here for the afternoon water play brings peace of mind.

新城市の桜淵公園にある無料の水遊び場、「桜淵公園大芝生広場の噴水」です。2026年は7月15日(水)から9月15日(火)までの予定で、10:00〜16:00に5分間隔で噴水が出ます。水が止まっている間に近くまで行って構え、吹き上がった瞬間に駆け込む、という遊び方が子どもたちに人気。広い芝生に囲まれているので、遊び疲れたらそのまま座って休めます。豊川の渓谷に沿った景勝地の中にあり、まわりの緑と川の風景ごと楽しめるのがこの場所ならではの魅力です。料金は無料なので、短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

開設期間はあくまで予定なので、出発前に新城市の公式サイトで当日の稼働を確認してください。設備についての公表がないため、着替えの場所やトイレの位置は現地で早めに確認しておくと安心です。芝生は雨上がりだとぬかるむことがあるので、汚れてもよい靴とレジャーシートがあると快適。16:00で噴水が止まるので、片付けと着替えの時間を逆算して15時半ごろには上がると落ち着いて帰れます。水遊び後は体をよく流し、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。

Tips

Seats fill up easily around noon on weekends and holidays, so arriving between 11 and noon lets you eat calmly. If you buy fresh food, a cooler bag lets you leave it in the car with confidence during the afternoon water play. Please check the business hours and closing days on the official website in advance.
