Lotus Flower Paddy (Fureai no Sato HASU Park Roadside Station)

About this spot

A paddy in the Tatsuta district of Aisai City where you can admire lotus blossoms. Aisai City is one of Japan's leading lotus root production areas, and from early summer through summer, large leaves spread across the flooded paddy with pale-colored flowers rising between them. The leaves are as tall as a child, and seeing them in person is startling, giving an entirely different impression from photographs. The flowers are more open and more beautiful in the morning, and for families it is also welcome to be able to walk during the cooler hours. It is a stop that lets you see first where the lotus root you eat for lunch that day was grown.

愛西市の「道の駅ふれあいの里HASUパークじゃぶじゃぶ池」は、2026年4月5日にグランドオープンした道の駅の中にある無料の水遊び場です。開設期間の公表はなく、道の駅の営業時間に準じて9:00〜17:00の利用となります。隣にはわんぱく広場と遊具広場があるので、水に飽きたら遊具、遊具に飽きたらまた水と、子どもが自分のペースで遊び続けられるのがこの場所の強み。24時間使えるトイレがあるのも家族連れには心強いところです。直売所と食事のできる場所が同じ敷地にあるため、飲み物やおやつをすぐに買い足せるのも便利。料金は無料なので、ドライブの途中に短時間だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

定休は木曜と年末年始です。開業したばかりのため整備中で利用できない日があり、出発前に公式サイトで当日の状況を確認してください。開設期間は公表されていないので、秋以降は稼働の有無をあわせて確認しましょう。17:00で道の駅の営業が終わるので、片付けと着替えの時間を逆算して16時半ごろには上がると落ち着いて帰れます。水遊び後は体をよく流し、木陰で休憩をはさみながら遊ぶと熱中症を防げます。おむつが取れていない子には水遊び用おむつを用意してください。

Tips

The peak bloom shifts from year to year, so checking the flowering conditions before your visit is the surest approach. Lotus flowers open in the morning and close in the early afternoon, so an early visit is recommended. The paths between the paddies can be muddy, so wear shoes you do not mind getting dirty. There is little shade, so a hat and drinks are essential.
