A museum introducing the history and daily life of Chita City. The highlight is the exhibit on Chita cotton (知多木綿), the area's main industry, where rows of tools for spinning thread and weaving cloth bring to life an era when cloth was made in individual households. As befits a place facing Ise Bay (伊勢湾), the materials on fishing and shipping are substantial too. The exhibition rooms are compact, so even small children can make a full circuit while their concentration lasts, which is just right. In the air-conditioned interior, you can spend the morning cool before the sun grows strong.
