Sori Green and Flower Park Water Play Area

About this spot

The Sori Green and Flower Park Water Play Area in Chita City is a free water play area inside the park that spreads along the shore of Sori Pond (佐布里池). The official notice says only from July 2026 and the end date is not disclosed, but if it follows previous years it is open until around the end of September, from 9:00 to 17:00. The water is shallow, so even small children can get in easily and parents can watch over them from close by, which is reassuring. Water toys can be borrowed at the reception of Ume no Yakata Hall; quantities are limited, so borrowing early in the day is the sure approach. The surroundings are full of flowers and greenery, so when children tire of the water you can change pace by walking the grounds or resting in the shade. Since it is free, you can also use it for just a short stop.

Tips

The park is closed on Mondays and over the New Year period. Bringing a change of clothes and a towel is recommended, as the official information also notes. Since the end date is not published, check the official website for the operating status if you visit in September. It is open until 17:00, so counting back the time needed to pack up and change, getting out around 4:30 p.m. lets you head home unhurried. After playing in the water, rinse off well and take breaks in the shade to prevent heatstroke. For children not yet out of diapers, please bring swim diapers.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens, is recommended, and arriving early is the sure way to borrow toys
