A branch temple of the Shinshu Otani-ha in central Sanjo City, this large temple has long been cherished by local people. The main hall standing in the spacious precincts has a dignified presence, and looking up at it midway through a town walk, you are struck by its scale. The street in front of the gate retains traces of the old townscape, letting you sense as you walk how this metalware town grew. The precincts are quiet, making it just the right place to settle the excitement stirred by the morning's sightseeing. Take some water in a shaded spot before moving on to the next stop.

ミズベリング三条せせらぎ水路は、三条MIZBEステーションにある無料の水遊びスポットで、開設期間は未発表、例年は夏季です。三条市公式が「小さなお子様でも安心して水遊びが楽しめます」と明記している浅い水路なので、初めての水遊びの場としても向いています。同じ敷地には遊具、3on3バスケットコート、スケートボードパークがあり、水に飽きたら陸の遊びへ移れます。かまどベンチと炊事場ではバーベキューが無料で使えるため、食事まで含めて1日を組み立てることもできます。水防学習館が併設されており、川と暮らしの関係を学べるのもこの場所ならではです。そして何よりありがたいのがシャワー室があることで、遊び終わったあとに体を流してから帰れるため、車のシートを濡らす心配が減ります。

積雪等により使用できない日があるとされているので、出発前に三条市の公式ページで当日の状況を必ず確認してください。開設期間は未発表なので、事前確認は欠かせません。水路の底は滑りやすいので、脱げにくいサンダルやマリンシューズを履かせてください。シャワー室を使うなら、石けん類とサンダルを持参すると快適です。かまどベンチや炊事場を使う場合は、利用ルールを現地の案内で確かめてから始めましょう。河川敷なので日陰が限られます。日よけになるものと飲み物は多めに用意してください。

This is a place of worship, so please refrain from running and stay quiet within the precincts. On days when ceremonies are held, entry may be restricted. In summer the gravel in the precincts reflects the heat, so it is best to keep the visit short rather than linger.
