Ishihama Shrine (石濱神社)

About this spot

Standing next to Shioiri Park (汐入公園), this old shrine is said to have been founded in the era of Emperor Shomu (聖武天皇). It once faced a ferry landing on the Sumida River (隅田川), and records remain of Edo-period townspeople walking from Asakusa (浅草) to worship here. The grounds hold a Fujizuka mound (富士塚) and several subordinate shrines, packing plenty to see into a compact space. Being close to the river, a breeze passes through, and even in midsummer daytime you feel cool once in the shade of the main hall. Right next to the park, it fits easily into the schedule either before or after water play.

Venue: 荒川区・汐入公園

汐入公園噴水施設（水遊び場）は、荒川区の汐入公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年のシーズンは7/1(水)〜9/30(水)で、時間は例年10:00〜16:00とされています。ろ過循環式の噴水広場で、水がたまる池ではなく、地面から吹き上がる水の間を走り回って遊ぶ形式です。利用には靴の着用が必要なので、ぬれてもよい靴かサンダルを用意してください。公園は隅田川に沿って細長く広がっており、水遊びのあとに川べりの遊歩道を歩いたり、大型遊具で遊んだりと過ごし方に幅があります。料金は無料で、園内にはトイレもあります。

Tips

2026年の公式告知に時間の明記がないため、開設時間は出発前に必ず確認してください。清掃点検の休止日は7/10・8/4・8/12・9/4・9/25です。8/1(土)は盆踊り大会のため終日中止です。噴水は靴の着用が必要なので、裸足では入れません。日よけは木陰とレジャーシートで工夫し、水分補給はこまめに行ってください。

Tips

Parts of the grounds are covered in gravel, so strollers can be hard to push. Check the shrine office hours in the official information. Teaching children the etiquette for worship makes even a short stop memorable. From the shrine you can walk straight into Shioiri Park (汐入公園).
