About this spot

This history museum of Meguro City opened in a repurposed building of the former Daini Junior High School. Stone tools from the Palaeolithic era and Jomon pottery, the shape of Meguro in the Edo period, and modern daily life are laid out in order. Because it is a school building, the corridors and stairs are wide, which helps families with children move around comfortably. Knowing how the slopes and rivers of Meguro came to be changes how the streets you walk afterwards look. It is air-conditioned and indoors, so it also suits a rest during the hours when the sun grows strongest.

ポケットオアシス清水じゃぶじゃぶ池・流れは、目黒区の清水にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年の稼働期間は7/1(水)から9/30(水)まで、時間は9:00〜16:30で、区の公式表記は「7月第1週から9月末頃まで」となっています。名前のとおりポケットのように小さな広場で、住宅街のなかにぽつんと開かれた水辺という趣があります。水は塩素等で消毒管理されており、水深も浅いので、歩きはじめの小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩き回れます。規模が大きくない分、目が届きやすく、はじめての水遊びデビューにも向いています。料金は無料で、思い立った日に気軽に出かけられます。

Tips

月1回ほど点検日があり、その日は利用できません。点検日時は現地に掲示されるので、出発前に区の公式ページで開設状況を確認してください。飲食物の持込とペットの入水はできません。水遊び用サンダルの着用が推奨されているので、かかとの留まるタイプを用意しましょう。日陰が少ないため、休憩用の大きめのタオルと帽子があると快適です。

Tips

Viewing the permanent exhibition is free, but check the official website in advance for opening days, hours and closures. The exhibits involve a lot of text, so starting with the sections you can grasp visually, such as pottery and tools, keeps children interested. It is a place to view quietly, so mention beforehand that there is no running. For whether strollers may be brought in, follow the guidance given on the day.
