About this spot

A cultural facility specialising in media art, located inside Tokyo Opera City Tower in Hatsudai. Works using sound, light and video are on display, and many are experiential: some react when you come close, others change with the movement of your body. Even when the explanations are hard to follow, children notice how a work operates while moving their hands and bodies. The galleries are quiet and air-conditioned, which makes this a comfortable place to spend a midsummer morning. Honmachi Sakura Park is within walking distance.

本町さくら公園親水施設（水遊び場）は、渋谷区の本町さくら公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年の開設期間は7/1(水)から9/24(木)まで、時間は9:00〜17:00で、夕方まで開いているので午前を別の場所で過ごしてからでも十分に遊べます。水深は浅く造られているため、歩きはじめの小さな子どもでも自分の足で歩き回れます。西新宿の高層ビル街から近い立地でありながら、まわりは落ち着いた住宅街で、地域の家族連れが日常的に使う遊び場になっています。料金は無料なので、天気を見て思い立った日に出かけられるのも魅力です。

Tips

清掃日にあたる毎週水曜日の午後は利用できません。午後の水遊びを予定している日が水曜にあたる場合は日程を見直すか、渋谷区の公式ページで状況を確認してください。気象状況によって開設が変更になることもあります。飲食物の持込とペットの入水はできません。着替えの場所は限られるため、水着を下に着ていくと現地での支度が短く済みます。

Tips

Check the opening days, opening hours, the content of the exhibitions and the admission fee on the official website in advance. Some works may be touched while others are for viewing only, so check the sign at each exhibit together with your child. There are dark exhibition rooms, so it is reassuring to tell a child who dislikes the dark beforehand. For entry with a stroller, follow the guidance given on the day.
