The Honmachi Sakura Park Water Play Facility is a free water play area in Honmachi Sakura Park in Shibuya Ward. In 2026 it is open from Wednesday 1 July to Thursday 24 September, from 9:00 to 17:00; because it stays open until evening, there is still plenty of time to play even after spending the morning somewhere else. The water is made shallow, so even small children who have just started walking can wander around on their own feet. Although it is close to the skyscraper district of Nishi-Shinjuku, the surroundings are a calm residential area, and it serves as an everyday playground for local families. It is free of charge, so you can set out on any day the weather looks good.

Tips
It cannot be used on Wednesday afternoons, which are cleaning days. If the day you plan afternoon water play falls on a Wednesday, reconsider the date or check the situation on the Shibuya Ward official page. Opening may also change depending on the weather. Food and drink may not be brought in and pets may not enter the water. Changing space is limited, so wearing swimwear under your clothes shortens the preparation on site.
Best time to visit
Arrive at 13:50 and you can play for about three hours, right up to near the 17:00 close
