The Meguro Kumin Campus Park Stream is a free water play area in Meguro Kumin Campus Park in Yakumo, Meguro Ward. In 2026 it operates from Saturday 25 April to Sunday 8 November, from 10:00 to 16:00, and the ward's official wording is usually from late April to early November. It is notable for operating over the longest period of any water play area in Meguro Ward, so you can put your feet in not only in high summer but also on mild days in spring and autumn. The water is disinfected and managed with chlorine and the like, and the stream is made shallow, so even small children who have just started walking can make their own way along it. Yakumo Central Library (八雲中央図書館) and Meguro Persimmon Hall are next door, so you are never short of somewhere to rest or to shelter from rain. It is free of charge and serves as an everyday playground for local families.

Tips

There is an inspection day about once a month, and it cannot be used on that day. Check the opening status on the ward's official page before you set out. In spring and autumn the water is still cold even when the air warms up, so having something to throw on as soon as you get out will keep you from getting chilled. Changing space is limited, so wearing swimwear under your clothes shortens the preparation on site. On days when there is an event at the neighbouring hall, the surrounding area can be crowded.
