Terminal 1 Observation Deck

About this spot

A free observation deck on the rooftop of Terminal 1 at Haneda Airport. The runway spreads out right in front of you, and you can watch large passenger jets take off and land one after another from close range. Feeling the engine noise and the wind with your whole body is an experience unique to this place, impossible to get from video. The terminal has many restaurants and shops, so there is no shortage of lunch options. Kitamaebori Green Space is a short trip away by Keikyu or bus.

北前堀緑地水遊び場（親水施設）は、大田区の北前堀緑地にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は4/28(火)から9/30(水)頃までの10:00〜16:00で開設される予定で、終了日は区の公式で公表されていないため例年9月末までというのが目安になります。この緑地はかつての堀を埋めて整えられた細長い形をしていて、その地形を活かした水の流れが子どもたちの遊び場になっています。水深は浅いので、歩きはじめの小さな子どもでも自分の足で進めます。水はろ過・殺菌管理されていますが飲用はできません。羽田に近い立地のため、遊んでいると頭上を飛行機が通っていくのもこの場所ならではの光景です。

Tips

定期清掃日の7/27・8/4・8/17・8/28は休止します。夏休みの時期に休止日が複数あるので、日程を決めるときは必ず確認してください。終了日は区の公式で公表されていないため、9月に訪ねる場合は大田区の公式ページで開設状況を確かめましょう。水は飲用できないので、飲み物は必ず持参してください。着替えの場所は限られるため、水着を下に着ていくと支度が短く済みます。

Tips

The observation deck has set opening hours, so check the official website in advance. The rooftop has little to block the sun and can be windy, so take care that hats do not blow away. Restaurants get crowded at lunchtime, so shifting your meal a little earlier or later shortens the wait. Because runway operations change direction, which side of the deck offers the better view depends on conditions that day.
